Our Story

In 1990 CESCO opened it’s first store in Dallas, Texas and began a tradition of excellence. Within 5 years of opening, this store was ranked #1 in the twin city market. CESCO grew from one store with 2 million dollars in sales and six employees to 320 million dollars in sales with six locations in Texas (Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Fort Worth and College Station). Each location rose to the top of their respective markets within a matter of years and in Electrical Wholesaling’s most recent Top 200 list, CESCO was ranked #32. The Houston location opened its doors in 2002 and in 5 years exceeded 130 million dollars in sales. Over The last 22 years, Crawford Electric has lived up to, and exceeded, its motto of “Whatever it Takes!”

Crawford Electric is now actively moving into additional market segments in the Gulf Coast area to further enhance our product offering to our customers. Crawford has invested in a full staff of knowledgeable and responsive sales people along with a several lines of inventory. Our team is dedicated to serving the industrial, electrical, automation and control markets. These markets range from OEM (on and off shore drilling) to industrial contractors.

Our Houston facility has over 14 million dollars of inventory and an 88,000 square foot facility. Crawford Electric is fully equipped to deliver as promised. We are a full line Square D and Crouse Hinds distributor, with many additional top of the line brands. We also handle wire cutting, wire handling, consignments, delivery, special order handling, and have a full service counter and will call area. CESCO is a subsidiary of the Sonepar company. In 2007 we joined 12 other electrical distributors in making up the Sonepar USA family which represented 2.9 billion dollars in sales. The Sonepar world wide sales figures for 2007 topped 15.3 billion dollars.

Today, with an estimated 17.6 billion dollars in 2008 turnover, Sonepar holds over 160 companies operating in 34 countries on five continents. CESCO is a member of the world’s largest privately-held electrical distributor in a 140 billion dollar market which, due to the growing number of applications for electrical equipment, fast-changing product technologies, and the need for new services, has considerable potential..
